Hubei Province Starts to Construct Corruption Prevention and Control System in Colleges and Universities
The CPC Hubei Provincial Commission for Discipline Inspection and Higher Education Work Committee of the CPC Hubei Provincial Committee recently held a seminar on the construction of the Party’s style of work and the work of corruption prevention and control in colleges and universities in Hubei Province. The seminar had an in-depth analysis on the harmfulness and cause of corruption in colleges and universities and put forward to construct the corruption prevention and control system with characteristics of colleges and universities, providing solid basis to ensure scientific development of colleges and universities and provide satisfactory higher education to the people. Huang Xianyao, Member of the Standing Committee of the CPC Hubei Provincial Committee and Secretary of the CPC Hubei Provincial Commission for Discipline Inspection attended the seminar and delivered a speech.
The province will construct the corruption prevention and control system with characteristics of colleges and universities in six aspects: First, improving cadre selection and recruitment mechanism in colleges and universities and selecting and managing the top leaders in a pragmatic manner; second, establishing and improving the management institutions in key links such as students enrollment, infrastructure construction, finance, material purchase and academic assessment; third, improving supervision and restraint mechanisms by strengthening internal supervision such as holding plenary sessions, teachers’ congress and university affairs publicity and giving full play to the roles of external supervision such as tour inspection, audit and public opinions; fourth, intensifying case investigation efforts so as to persistently punish corruption; fifth, strengthening education on the Party’s style of work and clean governance and construction of clean governance culture on campus so as to consolidate the ideological and moral defense line against corruption; sixth, improving and enforcing the departments of discipline inspection and supervision and giving full play to the roles of supervision. |
