The National Bureau of Corruption Prevention and the Ministry of Supervision Jointly Sent a Delegation to Attend the 8th Regional Seminar on Good Practices in Corruption Prevention in Macao
From March 25-26 2009, the 8th Regional Seminar on Good Practices in Corruption Prevention, jointly held by the Asian Development Bank (ADB) and the Organization for Economic Co-operation and Development (OECD) and sponsored by the Commission Against Corruption (Macao) on behalf of Macao SAR government, took place in Macao. The National Bureau of Corruption Prevention (NBCP) and the Ministry of Supervision of China jointly sent a delegation headed by Mei Zhichao, Deputy Director-General Inspector of NBCP Office to attend this seminar. Mei made a special speech entitled “Make Active Efforts to Advance the Publicity of Government Affairs and Carry Out the Corruption Prevention Work Intensively” on the seminar.
Mr. Yao Xianbin, Director General of the Regional and Sustainable Development Department of ADB gave a welcome speech on behalf of the Asian-Pacific Anti-corruption Initiative, and Madam Chen Limin, Secretary for Administration and Justice of the Macao SAR Government also made a welcome speech on behalf of the SAR government. Almost 100 representatives from 28 countries/regions and international organizations had a heated discussion on issues such as the role of preventive measures in the course of combating corruption, multimedia products and the mass-media to publicize anti-corruption, the educational measures for preventing corruption, the anti-corruption education in collaboration with individuals and Non-Governmental Organizations, and how anti-corruption organizations strengthen their cooperation with other government departments to reduce corruption. |
