Source: Time:

While Wu Yinzhi, a man from the Jin Dynasty, was serving as the prefecture chief of Guangzhou, he saw a pool by the name of “Greedy Spring” in the suburbs of Guangzhou. The local people said that if one drank the water of the Greedy Spring, he would become terribly greedy. Not believing it, Wu Yinzhi drank some water of the Greedy Spring. After drinking the water, he even wrote a poem, reading, “The ancient people believed, drinking this water would make people become avaricious. I drank some of it, just to prove I will be an exception.” During his term of office, Wu did turn out to be an honest and upright official and held fast to his moral integrity.
